September Product and Customer Updates

September Product and Customer Updates

Rebecca Yarbrough — September 24th, 2019

It's September, which means back to school, cool weather and loads of new updates from the Virgil Security team!

We've been busy improving E3Kit with improved speeds, broader support and built-in functionalities:

  1. E3Kit for JavaScript
    1. We've just released a beta version of E3Kit JS 0.6.0 that should significantly improve your encryption and decryption times in web browsers and React Native. Includes:
      1. WebAssembly-based crypto library
      2. React Native specific native crypto library
      3. Node.js support
    2. Please note we do not recommend going into production with this version until it's out of beta. With your help in testing this package and sharing your results, that should be soon! Please give us your valuable feedback on the Slack #beta channel.
  2. Dynamic group encryption
    1. With the new E3Kit support for dynamic groups, you're able to add/remove group members. This makes it easier to add new users who just joined the team, remove access after a certain time, and more.
    2. The beta release is out for iOS. Stay tuned for more languages soon.

  3. Stream encryption for files and large data
    1. Encrypting files over 1 MB? Use E3Kit's support for stream encryption to avoid lags or delays in your application performance.
      1. Find specific instructions for Android, iOS and JavaScript in the "Encrypt Large Files" section in the E3Kit developer documentation.

Plus, we have new demos and a new developer dashboard interface.

And of course, we're continuing work on PureKit and just released WaveKit: a new automotive security framework to add a security level to vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication in onboard (OBU) and RSU units.

Check it out and give us feedback so we can continue improving! Find us on Slack or here via Intercom in the right corner.
